I guess we can all agree that your black metal music stand isn’t the best-looking furniture. No matter how functional it is, I have yet to come across a metal stand that looks aesthetic and nice. If you’re also tired of seeing an ugly piece of metal sitting in your living or practice room, then it may be time to consider looking into wooden music stands instead.

In addition to looking beautiful, wooden music stands are much more durable and sturdy than metal ones due to their material quality. While they are more expensive than metal stands, wooden stands don’t break easily and can last for decades as opposed to metal ones.

When it comes to wooden stands, I love the fact that even if someday you stop playing music, they can still serve you as nice pieces of furniture. I also love how beautifully they match the elegance of the instrument.

To help you decide what wooden music stand is worth your money, we have reviewed and listed the best ones in terms of functionality, quality, and aesthetics.

Let’s start.

K&M 116/1 Wooden Music Stand

View on Amazon

We just can’t praise this stand enough. It looks so beautiful that it’s much more than a music stand. With its modern and classy look, it’s a beautiful piece of furniture on its own.

The reason we are so impressed with this stand is that its beautiful look doesn’t take anything away from its functionality. It’s made of high-quality wood with well-finished timber. It’s also very sturdy and stable, easily holding not only your sheet music but also large and heavy music books. The height and tilt adjustment mechanism is also very solid and easy.

Overall

Beautiful, elegant, classy, sturdy, stable, modern, quality, functional… These are just some of the things we admire in this German-made K&M stand. Its durability and timeless design mean this stand will serve you for many years to come.

QuikLok Music Stand

View on Amazon

If you’re looking for a sturdy yet nice-looking and affordable wooden stand, you should check out this one by Quick-Lok. While it’s incredibly sturdy and strong, it’s not as heavy as the metal stands, and can hold your largest and heaviest music books very well.

The desk area is also much larger than the standard Manhasset stands and can hold a lot of music books at the same time. I believe this feature will most come in handy for duet partners. Another great feature is the softness of its edges which protects your music books from damage.

One thing to note is that the desk area is not %100 made out of wood but rather laminate over particle board. However, I don’t think you should refrain from getting it if you like all the other features. It’s the most stable and professional-looking stand you can get for this price, so I encourage you to give it a chance if you don’t want to spend too much on a good-looking music stand just for it to be solid wood.

Overall

Sturdy, stable, and easily adjustable, this stand is the best value for money. While its desk is laminate on particle board, it still looks reasonably enough like wood and beautiful.

Touch of Class Aubrie Music Stand

View on Amazon

Handcrafted from wood and veneers with a classic cherry finish, this wooden stand by Touch of Class makes a great piece of furniture. It looks incredibly classy and elegant and will add that classic touch to wherever you place it.

This stand is made of quality wood and is very sturdy. It’s also very easy to assemble and adjusts from 41 inches to 53 inches high.

Overall

We can’t recommend this Touch of Class Aubrie stand enough. If you’re looking for a stand that will perfectly complement your furniture while being functional and durable, you should definitely consider it.

On-Stage SM7312W Conductor Music Stand

View on Amazon

Another budget option, this one stands out with its large bookplate and deep ledge that can hold multiple sheet music books, a metronome, tuner, tablet, or other large items you place on it at the same. Its metal legs are incredibly sturdy so you don’t need to worry about it wobbling.

Because its stand and base are metal, it’s also easily adjustable and lightweight despite its sturdiness. These features make this stand very easy to move around and practical to use.

The reason for its cheap price compared to other wood stands is that it’s not made out of solid wood. Its legs and base are metal, while the bookplate is particle board covered with melamine. However, considering its price and features, this stand is one of the best stands on the market.

Overall

This stand is exceptionally large, sturdy, easily adjustable, and lightweight. If you value functionality over aesthetics, you can’t go wrong with this one.

Vio-music Wooden Music Stand

View on Amazon

With a beautiful cherry finish, this wooden stand from Vio-Music is exceptionally well made. In addition to being sturdy, easily adjustable, and stable, this stand looks incredibly artistic and elegant.

It’s a very fine piece of woodwork that is very practical to use and aesthetic-looking. The only drawback is that it can’t be lowered as much as other stands. This stand is better for a standing musician, so cellists are recommended to look at other options.

Overall

We are obsessed with the stunning cherry finish and wood quality of this stand. In addition to easily holding your large sheet music books, it can add that elegant and artistic feel to your environment.
